More South Caicos!

South Caicos!

I've already been here for a month and still haven't sent any pictures... It is very beautiful here even though the island is a bit weird. Nothing you would expect in the Carribbean. The water is nice and I see many sharks on all my dives. My first dive here was very special as I got to dive with dolphins which is apparently very rare here and nobody here was ever so lucky. I also swam with humpback whales ( pictures will come later... ). The sunset is stunning and we have the best view from here. That's probably the most romantic it gets here for me but I'll survive! On Sunday we went out to the top of the island and a nice beach day. It was a bit windy that day as you might have noticed but absolutely beautiful! I hope you like the pictures. More to come...

You can call me BOSS!

Big news! I'm gonna be a manager!!! Leaving end of this month off to South Caicos. I will overtake a the job of a good friend who is managing a small dive and marine research station for marine biology students. This is exactly what I wanted to do! I will be the new dive safety officer for The School for Field Studies in the Caribbean, in South Caicos. A small remote island but a lot bigger than the islands in the Maldives. More to do, more people, better diving... Awesome! Life is good! This job is only for 5 months but who knows what will be next...

More Maldives underwater!

What happened the last months...

Alright, of course it's been again too long since I last updated my blog. SORRY! I left the Maldives in November. Unfortunately it was not really what I expected. Diving was awesome but living on such a remote island is a lot harder than some of you might think. And for some reason ( the Maldivians... ) I decided, it might be better to leave. Life is harder and even harder if you are a woman!!! From the tropical hot Maldives I went back home to freezing cold Germany. Not the best choice to return in winter but what can you do... Here is the contrast of my life in the Maldives and icy winter wonderland in Germany...
